So now you have been using Pinterest for awhile, or maybe you are brand new to pinterest and you are looking for a unique way to gain more followers and exposure on the popular boards.

You’ve pinned every cute little kitten you could find, uploaded every picture on your hard drive and have made hundreds, possibly thousands of pins and have yet to build a large group of followers or get re-pinned consistently on the front pages. Has all your pinning been a waste?

Well fret not! These tips will get you noticed!

Remember Pinning is Fun!

- Create!

Stop pinning rehashed over done pictures of the same ol thing. Take those rehashed pictures and spin some of your personality into them by adding a funny or inspirational saying in text or merging two photos to create something unique!

- Follow!

Follow the people on the front page and you will soon be there too.! But more than that, follow the trends that you see making it to the front pages regularly.. Are they photos of babies? Food? Infographics? What ever it is make it your own and repeat the process!

- Knock the dust off!

People LOVE retro. Find old pictures and scan them, pick up cool things from yard sales and thrift stores that you can scan.. i.e. old advertisements.. old classified ads..Old statistics or maps, etc are great pinning ideas.

Be Consistent.

Pin, Pin, Pin, but also don’t forget to RE-PIN! Re-pinning is the currency of Pinterest and to earn your spot you must share the wealth! People love to have their stuff re-pinned and once you repin them, they will feel obligated to repay the “debt”!

Be Current with Pinning.
